About Matt McDaniel

I have loved photography since I was young, and have been fortunate enough to have great equipment to learn and practice with. I grew up in Florida and now live in Utah with my wife and son... with another boy on the way. I use my middle name Ryan for the company name, because it flows better that Matt McDaniel... hence the Matthew Ryan Photography. I've been shooting weddings for about 5 years. I shoot both digital and film, but am leaning toward switching entirely to film.

Why I like shooting film...
I grew up shooting on film and have always loved it. There is a certain feel it creates that cannot be explained. The process of creating art with a camera in its rawest form intrigues me. Although it is more expensive and more work to shoot entirely on film, the images that I create are more special to me. I am in this business as an artist, and I feel that through this medium, I can truly create art.
